Question:
How to discover a new use in plants?
I have a science project to do. I have to discover a new use in a plant. For that I need some help. Can you help me?
What should I do to find a use in the plant?
Answers:
1) ask help from the experts who studied all this stuffs
2) At first, You have to find out, what the plant contains, f.e. Alcaloides, Vitamines and so on. Then you start a search for use of those contents in medicine and ethno-medicine and for the plant or parts of it ( Rhizoma, Herba, Flora, Semen etc ) too. If You ask for the scientific term, You should find more results. If You find a difference between use of contents and wellknown use, You can check, if there is enough active substance in Your plant or if You can concentrate it by an extract f.e. and You found a new medical use. If You are looking for other uses, check, if You can find fibers for tissue, or strong branches for brooms, or oil for Bio-Diesel, use Your phantasy. Hope, You understand my terrible English!
