Will the police academy pay for law school for me?*
Someone told me while attending or after completing police academy that they will pay for law school is this true?
Answers:
1) The academy or department? Without any more information, I say no. If you get on with a department that has educational assistance, they may pay for law school. But a police academy is not going to. In Missouri most private police academies are ran by colleges or universities. So you get college credit for the academy and some may let you take other classes at the college for free. But that is not the same as paying for law school.
2) Your department may give you education assistance, but I've never heard of a academy doing this.
3) An prospective employer will pay for you attending a police academy. Additionally, some departments offer educational incentives. You need to inquire with the agencies you tend to apply for! Best wishes.
4) I highly doubt it. What is the reason for going to law school? So you can become a lawyer? If that is the case, they will not pay you to go to another field. You wouldn't catch McDonald's paying people to train for work at Sonics.
5) My guess is no. Typically police officers and lawyers are on different sides of the fence. Prosecutors will be on the side of the cops - but if you go for defense attorney, definitely not.
6) More than likely. I am thinking about becoming a RN and if i promise in a written statement to work the hospital for 2 years, they will pay for my college. You have to ask the police department in your county/city. They might. I now that corrections pays for you to go to school in most states, but i dunno where your from. Good luck.
7) Yeah you question need clarification. But, While in the Academy we had a Law segment that gave us the basics of all the laws. Basically covering the elements of the crime, the degrees of that particular crime and the Max / Min punishment given.
8) Why would a police academy pay for you to attend law school? Police stations do not house lawyers. Do you want to be a cop or do you want to be a lawyer?
9) not a chance
10) Why would the police department want you to become a lawyer? That makes no sense. They want you to be a police officer, and nothing more.
