I need a Gas credit card, what gives me the best return for cash or rewards? or...??? ONLY GAS!?*

My mom will be paying for the balance every month so yeah :)

Answers:

1) I'd get the Chase Freedom Card. It gives 3% back for Gas, Groceries and Fast Food on the first $600 of purchases each billing cycle (and 1% back on everything else) The rebates go right to your bill, so if your mom is paying the bill, she's going to get the money back. Alternatively, if you spend less than $150/month on gas, go with the discover card. It'll pay 5% back on the first $150 of auto expenses a month. The rebates build up in an account and once you reach $20 you can redeem the rewards for cash, or for other things (sometimes you get a bonus, i.e. at CVS you get $50 in credit for $45 of 'discoverbucks'. I hope that helps.

2) The Citi Driver's Edge card will pay 6% at gas stations for the first year (3% thereafter), but the rewards must be applied to auto maintenace, purchase, or lease. The Chase Freedom card will net you 3.75% at gas stations if you wait to redeem your rewards in $200 increments. The AmEx Blue Cash card goes up to 5% at gas stations, but it's tiered, so your results will depend on how much you spend. There are other good gas cards too. To easily compare how much each will pay you for your gas station spending (and other spending if you have other spending on your card) and apply for the best card, you can use this rewards calculator: http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/

3) I got the Discover open road card it gives 5% cash back on gas and auto repairs for the first year 1% on other purchases Discounts at some online retailers My credit is only fair 675 score but I qualified for a 2000 credit limit

4) Chase PerfectCard MasterCard * 0% Introductory APR for up to twelve months * No Annual Fee * 6% rebates on all gas purchases at any gas station for the first 90 days * 3% rebates on all gas purchases at any gas station thereafter * 1% rebates on allother purchases made anywhere Apply online at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/Gas_Card.html
