Any idea how to cancel a year long membership to Fitness First, when there's still 8 months remaining?*
Tried to cancel it back in October07 (after 4 months) as i had relocated. They refused. So i cancelled my direct debit. Now they're chasing and suggest the best option is for someone to take over the remaining 8 months. And i pay a one-off admin fee. Any ideas for another solution?
Answers:
1) Not really, you signed a contract and shoudl honour. They are being generous by offering that you find someone. I know that you didn;t mvoe to spite them, but that is how gyms make money and you did sign a 1 year contract with them, therefor need to honour it.
2) get a letter from your GP or sumit to explain how you have lost so much weight etc due to illness / stress / depression therefore wont be using the gym therefore cant pay if you wont be attending...??...worth a try
3) You signed the contract. What provisions are there for early cancellation?
4) you have entered into a legally binding agreement called a contract. so they could actually sue you for cancelling the direct debit as you are in breach, not them. only other solution is pay it, sorry.
