fix my credit?*
I have a outstading bill from a collecter if I pay it does my credit score go up or stay the same is it worth paying
Answers:
1) Paying old debt does not improve your score. However, creditors look at your whole report not just the score. Paid old debt looks better than unpaid. If this debt is still within the Statute of Limitations (SOL), the timeframe to bring lawsuit, the collector could sue, win a judgment, then attach your bank account, garnish your pay, and lien our property. Negotiate a settlement. Lump sum gets the best deals. Any payment plan has to be short term. Get any agreement in writing and do not give them direct access to your bank account.
2) You should use credit reporting company. Try this one - http://creditreport.imess.net They can clean lots of bad stuff from your credit report.
3) I can help you! I work for Nationwide Credit. We are also a law firm as well. We have been in business for 19 years and members of the Better Business Bureau for 7 years with NO complaints. We're also registered with the Secretary of State and ALL of our contracts are in compliance with the attorney general. Let me know if you need any help. We have amazing success rates. By the way, don't listen to these people who say bad things against companies like mine. There have certainly been credit repair companies that have scammed people. They give the good guys a bad rep. We're not all like that. You can look into our program and we are totally supported by the BAR as well.
