Question:

Very Angry about work credit situation!! Please Read?

I work at Victoria's Secret and I am having major problems. At my job we were short on credit accounts and I was thinking about applying but decided not to. This really pissed off my manager because we needed to open a certain amount of credit accounts that day and she had zero. I did fill out the application and told her I would think about it. At the end of the night I was going to purchase something I told her I decided I did not want to apply because I am working on my credit and knew I would be denied. I have no credit cards and several collections. I was buying some things and she told me I was denied. I thought she was talking about my debit card not going through but she said I was denied credit. She had taken my application and ran it for credit. I hadnt signed it or anything. This inquiry lowered my score and I am furious because she was selfish to get a credit card account open. What can I do or should do in this situation. lyndlyn i am not trying to blame anyone I have an average scor and did not want to open accounts I didnt need. She used my debit card rather than a credit card to apply for the account so I knew I would be denied. Your answer was pretty good until the end.

Answers:

1) Don't sign it, no matter what. You need to complain to her superiors. She pressured you into filling out the application as it was, and she certainly didn't have your permission to run it. I would start looking for another job if I were you.

2) Report her to the district manager if it makes you feel better - but most likely there will be retaliation... are you sure you're not just mad because of your poor credit situation that you got yourself into and you are not just looking for someone else to blame????

3) find a new job

4) You should never have filled out an application, signed or not, until you were sure you wanted to apply. Close the account and move on.

5) Email her boss, and go through whatever "whistleblower" channels they may have. But, be prepared to lose your job, despite federal laws protecting whistleblowers.
