Garnishing Wages?*

When you get a car repossession...especially if its not a large car dealership, just a small ghetto one, do they always garnish wages ? Will they always take you to court and sue or do they just tell you the remaining balance and what you need to p ay?

Answers:

1) Small or Large, Ghetto or Not, they can sue/win/and garnishee your wages for the amount you owe.

2) id call your loan company and ask.... you have so many days to pay the remaining balance or the past balance off and be able to get it back before it goes to an auction location... not sure which of the balance it requires good luck

3) I believe that they have to furnish you with the amount the vehicle sold for and you will be liable for the balance plus their expenses in selling or auctioning the vehicle. They most likely will not give up for a very very long time in collecting the balance. They may even ultimately garnish your wages if you cannot work out a payment plan with them.

4) They have to take you to court before they can garnish your wages, but they should give you an opportunity to pay the balance first.

5) Zeke; If you vehicle was repossessed, then the dealer, no matter how small, will usually auction off the car. Any remaining balance will be your responsibility. If they sell it for more, then they owe you the balance. (Which rarely happens). The balance will then be sent to either an attorney or small claims court. It could lead to wage garnishment down the line.

6) All of them want their $$$$ so Any of them can take you to court . It is cheap to file in court so most car repo places do file . And then they can garnish wages for the repo Plus court costs . Better to pay Before you rack up court costs too . >
