debit card problems?*

I have a bank account in Belguim, and at the moment i am in panama, my bank card stopped working, so i contacted the bank and they sent me a new card and pin, this card is a mestro card , now it arrived on saturday and worked perfectly, now today it no longer works, i have contacted the bank and the only thing they say is, nothing has changed and we have traced the card, there should be no problems, i have money in the bank, i dont understand why it wont work, any ideas? this would be a maestro card . sorry cant spell today. i cant get any money at all, the money is in the bank i just cant withdraw it, it says contact your bank, they say no problems this end, its not the card as it worked once so it should work all the time, but its NOT WORKING

1) It may just be a spending limit issue. Depending on the type of currency in your Belgian account and the currency you're using in Panama, you may be using up funds faster than you realize (amount withdrawable per day). Call your bank back and ask them to confirm your daily withdrawal limit. If need be increase it. If you're still out of luck, just withdraw some extra cash to have on hand. Double check your international ATM fees...they could really add up. You may want to have your bank issue a pre-paid credit card so you don't have to worry about not having access to your funds.

2) I used to work in an exchange bureau company and maestro cards were likely to problems but I'm not sure what's the reason. the best card to travel abroad is visa.

3) Emma, your debit card has a daily limit that you can use to purchase items and you have a daily withdrawal limit...If you max'd out your daily withdrawal then it should work tomorrow..If could have also been the place that you tried to use it if you were trying to make a purchase...It will probably work tomorrow for you....I hope so...Good luck...HH

4) Waarschijnlijk is de opnamelimiet per dag of per week bereikt. Neem contact op met de bank en vraag of de limiet aangepast kan worden. In deze gevallen is het altijd handig om twee bankrekeningen te hebben met twee bankkaarten.
