Credit Card Spending Online?*
I used my credit card to purchase baseball tickets.(Wellsfargo)
I had "two" errors when I purchased this since I typed wrong address(zip code)
I finally put the right address and purchased the tickets.
I checked out the wells fargo bank account online after that. and Wow, I saw "Three" charges of MLB tickets . There were all pending though. What would be the problem? MLB charged three times for purchasing? (I said I had two errors)
Or, They're gonna just take out money once?
Is it wells fargo's fault? MLB's fault or none of them's fault but I just see pending values. I don't understand this "pending" thing whenever I check online.
Answers:
1) Sometimes merchants will place a hold on your account to verify that you have available credit to complete a transaction. These holds will clear once the transaction has been completed and successfully processed. I have personally seen some weird things on my online banking with holds, but once the charges post within a few days it all clears up, and the strange charges (holds) disappear. I would say, wait until the charge posts, and then see how much and if all three posted. At that point, if they did, you would need to contact the merchant to figure out what went wrong and resolve it. You could always call in the meantime just to make sure it was processed properly, if you're that concerned.
2) You need to call Wells Fargo asap and tell them exactly what happened. Sometimes it says it doesn't go thru, and it does, and it shouldn't. Thank God you caught it, cuz otherwise it probably woulda been too late later. Its happened to me before. You hafta call Wells Fargo and probably call the place that you bought the tickets from to make sure its all taken care of. 3) call fargos, you "technically" placed 3 orders. when you place an order online it usually says somewhere on the pg to not refresh pg, go back, double click things like that b/c their system will think its putting an order in. in your bank account if it says pending it means there are merchants waiting to get their money from your acct to theirs. if that mechants name is there 3 times it means there were 3 orders placed. call asap to fargo b/c usually you cant return tixs, explained what happened, i hope their understanding. next time dont panic, wait for a confirmation number, if u dont get one call them to see whats going on to prevent this again. i rather give up a lil of my time then a lil of my $$$$$$$$!!!!
