When is a credit card's annual fee charged?*
I recently applied for an airline's frequent-flier credit card. Even though it has an annual fee, it's nothing when compared to the money I'll save on purchasing plane tickets by using the free flights.
I was wondering if credit cards usually charge their annual fee as soon as you get it, or if it's on the anniversary of your account opening.
Answers:
1) they charge when you get it and every year on the same date they will send a reminder on the statement before it is due
2) it will be one your first bill and every year there after!!!
3) It depends on the card. Call and ask them! If this is your first card, keep it for a while, then apply for a different card with no annual fee. Then, close out that card.
