Can you place conditions (in writing) on a personal check?*
For example, you write a check, on the back side you write your conditions (i.e. "By depositing this check, Depositee agrees to conditions X, Y and Z). And would it be legally binding?
Answers:
1) NO, you would need a lawyer & CONTRACT, Personal Checks are not contracts..........
2) No, that doesn't work. You CAN write on the memo line: Final Payment, Loan, etc... Just by them cashing it means they agreed with the ststement on the check.
3) Google restrictive endorsements depending on what it is for, it could be legally binding.
