Is it possible to have bad credit at 17???*

Is it possible to have bad credit before you turn 18? Like when people put their phones in their childrens names and don't pay the bill, will the child suffer. What about if the child did it themselves, will they hear it bad at 18?

3) Yes it is very possible. My mom put stuff under my name when I was only 14 (cable bill, phone bill) ad even though my mom paid for it she forgot to pay them when we moved, they went onto my credit still. But for a phone bill, like mobile it would be hard to do it but if it was a home phone(like me) it mess up your credit cos they dot do credit checks or aything.

4) Any credit troubles that a minor has would become the problem of his/her parent or guardian...and they would suffer the consequences in their credit files for their child's behavior. The second you turn 18...then you could have bad credit...HOWEVER, you could successfully dispute this and have the items deleted by requesting official validation that you were of legal age when the debt was incurred.

5) Yea I know this 17 year old at my job, she can't even open a checking account because she is so screwed up.

6) ABSOLUTELY! Apparently my parents used my name and SS# on numerous bills when I was a kid, imagine my shock when I was 18 just moving out of the house, finally on my own and finding out I had several bills in collections. My first car loan was 25% interest rate due to terrible credit! I had to pay "my" bills off myself because the only other option was to report my parents for fraud and have them possibly sent to jail, besides they have always been poor and I had small siblings to think about...
