Why is every female I know in debt?*
I don't mean that as a sexist question I'm just stating what I've found. Is there a reason for this do you think or are they just unlucky? my mum told me that if she didn't have dad she'd really struggle.
Answers:
1) Because of their poor credit rating? Or because they keep spending men money and dont know when to stop.
2) You are sexist whether you like it or not.
3) Your mom may well just mean that it'd be hard to survive on one salary versus having both hers and your dad's. That's not a difference in spending habits, just a sheer reality of life. Personally, among couples I know, it's the women that are the more responsible spenders, better budgeters, and the ones that manage the family finances.
4) You know the wrong females, that's all. Some of us live within our means.
5) Well, the common denominator is YOU, lol.
6) You don't mention the age group that you mentioned so the question could be a throwback to the time when women were expected to stay home and take care of the house or the more recent lack of restraint for instant gratification Many women, as well many of young people were never taught how to handle money. Parents should be teaching their children not only how to budget but how to invest & make their money work for them, but somehow the financial issues never come up at home other than mentioning an occasional bill that needs to be paid or the children asking for money for some item or activity.
7) that is what they want you to believe, then they can't be asked for a loan. you do not know women , do you?
8) Maybe because the only female that you know is your mum! Honestly how many females are willing to discuss their personal financial lives with you?
9) In general it's because you men have made us think we have to be super-gorgeous before we are allowed to be dated and be seen in public. There is not the same pressure on men to be super groomed, well dressed and gorgeous before you leave the house and yet you expect us to be all of this on meagre budgets. Woman have been spending far too much on holidays, make up, hair, clothes, handbags, shoes and other rubbish. And why??????? 'because you're worth it' as the advert says. (and of course it was written by a man).
10) What kind of debt? There is good debt like student loans, and bad debt like credit cards.
11) Where do you know these females from?? How old are they?? When I was younger, I was so much more irresponsible with my money, but so were the men I dated. then I moved out on my own...did as I pleased with my money and have done quite well for myself for years. I now have almost zero debt, I have my own home....no condo or home owners assn., I'm talking a solid, 100 yo craftsman home on a .5 acre lot. I look around now & then & feel proud of what I have accomplished on my own. Especially when only 8 years ago I couldn't get a loan or credit card in my name to save my backside. I'm sure I'm not the only female who has ditched the bad habits (including the bad boyfriends) and decided she can do "oh, so much better" on her own, without anyone else's opinion or input on where HER $$ is best spent!
