I'm having a problem making an online purchase with my Visa Gift Card?*

I got a Visa Gift Card worth $30.00 and I went online to ABC Liquor's website to buy liquor and my total came out to be 27 or 28 dollars including shipping fees. And when I was checking out it said that the purchase could not be made with the card and I needed to use a different card. Can somebody explain to me what the problem is and how to fix it?
